Membership Information
The Steel City Boogie Club is not a “place”, it is its members. By joining the Club, you are assuring its survival, so that you will have an inexpensive, friendly, and safe place to dance on a regular basis. Membership dues are necessary to pay administrative and operational expenses. Membership runs from January 1 ~ December 31, and dues are $25, and can be renewed annually for $25.

As a member, you get:
- discounted admission fees to all regular dances, dance lessons and special events,
- 6 bi-monthly issues of our “Boogie Beat” newsletter which will be mailed to you,
- early opportunities to register for attendance at our annual weekend extravaganza, “Boogie in the Burgh”,
- Reduced attendance fee at our festive Holiday Dinner Dance if you attend regular dances throughout the year (i.e. dances for which you pay the regular admission fee to the SCBC dances throughout the year ),
- DJ's who play great fast dance music,
- dance venues that have a wooden dance floor, ample parking, and safe surroundings, and
- entry into the community of dancers that can enrich your life!

Current Dance Sites
We have dances at several locations. Admission at regular dances is usually $5 - members and $10 - nonmembers, however, prices may vary slightly depending on the site. They are:
Core Event Center - 100 Colony Drive, Irwin Pa. 15642
SNPJ - 255 W. Allegheny Road, Imperial Pa. 15126 (near Robinson Town Center)
Avonworth Park Pavilion - 498 Camp Horne Rd.~ Pittsburgh, PA 15237 ( 1 mi. off of 279 Exit 15 in the North Hills area)

Any member is welcome to attend the Executive Committee meetings which are usually held on the last Tuesday of each month. Meetings are held at various locations, and begin at 2:00 p.m. Call the Hotline to confirm dates, locations, and times @ 724-728-SCBC (7222).
SCBC DJs
The SCBC has the best DJs around, who play on a rotating basis. They are: Kevin Mahoney ~ JD Merkel
Each one of them has played around town for decades and they know what fast dancers want to hear and play it. Their music is unique--sometimes characterized as beach music or R & B boogie blues music. Whether you do the Jitterbug, Jump, East or West Coast Swing, Bop or Shag, you won't be able to sit for long!
